Elenore Deen Wright

Elenore Deen Wright, 91, of Virginia Beach passed away quietly on January 28th, 2026. She was born on October 29th, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to parents George and Hallie May Zimmer (née McCurdy). She was the youngest of two daughters, and shared a close bond with her sister, Jean, throughout their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hallie Zimmer, sister Jean Merchant, husband John M. Wright, and youngest son, Guy Wright.

Elenore leaves behind three devoted children; son John M. Wright and wife Lisa, daughter Elenore Castellano and husband Enrico, son Mark Wright and wife Deborah; her eight beloved grandchildren, Lindsey Wright Lee, Lane Wright, Michael, Vincent and Alex Castellano, Kelsey Wright, Dylan and Barbara Deen Wright. As well as, her five cherished great-granddaughters, Ava Ruth and Nora Lee, Lillian and Violet White, and Julia Castellano and one great-grandson, Joseph Castellano.

Elenore was a treasured resident of the Discovery Commons community, and a dear friend to other residents and staff alike. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her, but her legacy will live on through her adoring family which will honor her in a private graveside service where she will be laid to her eternal rest next to her husband, John.
