She was born on June 10, 1940 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Robert and Sarah (Tucker) Sowers. Elizabeth was an amazing mother and partner. Family would wait all year long for her delicious cornbread dressing at Thanksgiving. She was a dedicated worker for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina, retiring after 25 years serving community she loved. A skilled seamstress, she crafted clothes for her children into their late teens. Elizabeth also had a green thumb and was able to rescue even the sickest plants, nurturing them back to health.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Ginger A Coleman (Marty), grandchildren Robbie Brunson, (Alex), Jaynie Brunson, great grandchild Bobby Brunson. She is also survived by a brother, James R. Sowers (Carol) a sister-in-law, Marguerite Sowers and numerous nieces and nephews left behind to treasure her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Charles Branham and second husband of 20 years, Rick Barkman, daughter, Victoria Branham Brunson, a brother Joseph Allen Sowers and sister, Janie Elrod.
Elizabeth also leaves behind her life partner of 7 years Dewey E. Daniels, whom will miss her dearly.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Agape Hospice Care, especially her nurse, Chelsie and her CAN, Valerie.
