Elizabeth Claire Esquivel was born on October 15, 1995, in Austin, Texas to Sue Ann Clendenen and Israel Esquivel. Claire was our only child, but she was never lonely. She was blessed with incredible friends and was always up for an adventure. She loved sports, excelling in softball, and enjoyed running the Capitol 10K each year with her father. She loved the outdoors – mountain biking, hiking, swimming, wake boarding, cliff jumping and camping. She also enjoyed traveling, music festivals, trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends. She was also a huge lover of animals, and never met one she didn't like, releasing every insect and spider found in the house back to nature.
Claire is survived by her parents, grandmothers Florence Clendenen and Juanita Esquivel, aunts and uncles Mary Beth and William Simpson, Maria Esquivel, Pat and Steve Esquivel, Tony and Tanya Esquivel, Lucy and Johnny Esquivel, and Mary Lou and Arthur Esquivel, cousins Adrienne Randle, Arianna Simpson, Adrian Jasso, Tracey, Tony, Matthew, Tony, Christina, Stevie, Alison, Erica and Edward Esquivel, sister Meg Ross, numerous nieces and nephews, and her two kittens Marbles and Nemo. She is preceded in death by her grandfathers Walter Lee Clendenen and Arysteo Esquivel.
Visitation will be at Beck Funeral Home, 15709 Ranch Rd 620, Austin, TX 78717 on Friday, August 25 at 6:00 PM, immediately followed by a rosary at 7:30 PM. Mass will be at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1101 W New Hope Dr, Cedar Park, TX 78613 on Tuesday, August 29 at 11:00 AM.
Claire had an extremely rare autoimmune disease that absolutely destroyed her blood and organs. In lieu of flowers, we ask those who can, to please donate blood, or contribute to your local animal shelter in her honor.
