Elizabeth Sharon Kendall
April 16, 1941 ~ October 28, 2024
Elizabeth Sharon Kendall, 83, passed away peacefully at Encore Village nursing home in Schaumburg, Illinois after a five year struggle with debilitating illness.
Sharon was born in Louisville, Ky on April 16, 1941, to Elizabeth and Amos Kendall. Following her graduation from Hanover College in Indiana, and her master's degree in Bio-Chemistry from Indiana University, she worked at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, NC, where she had moved with her parents. She worked there until her retirement at 65 as a pathologist and teacher of interns.
Sharon was a devoted member of her church with a very strong faith. She was devoted to preserving the earth, a lover of all animals (especially cats) and a volunteer at the library and a food pantry.
She loved to travel: Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Wales, Ireland, England, and many others.
But her greatest love was her family. She is survived by her cousins, Carol T. Stephens, Chicago; Dianne Brackin, California; Donald Reiss, Louisville, Ky; Cheryl Schaefer, Louisville, Ky; Lynn Wilson, Louisville, Ky; Marsha W. Roberts, Louisville, Ky; Ronald Williams, Louisville, Ky; Janis L. Williams, Louisville, Ky. and all their children.
Remembrances may go to: Nature Conservancy, World Wide, Heifer International.
Service was held at Pearson's Funeral Home in Louisville, Ky. On Friday, Nov 1, 2024.
Burial was next to her parents in Cave Hill Cemetery, in Louisville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of Pearson's, "Where Louisville Goes to Remember."
