Ella May Yates, 78, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. She worked as a CNA for majority of her life and later worked at Casey's making donuts (which she absolutely loved to do).
Ella was born on December 16, 1946, in Sanford, ME, the daughter of Cleve and Lorraine (Hardy) Jellison. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, and being with her friends. Ella was caring, compassionate, and always helping others. She was selfless and loved to spend her time volunteering.
Ella is survived by her son, Daniel (Jasey) Yates; two daughters, Jennifer (Joseph) Loomis, Denise Yates; eleven grandchildren, Ben, Kim, Bryan, Jacob, Mackenzie, John, Robert, Ryan, Brian, Bethany, Gracie; seven great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Penny, Henry, Kinley, Caspian, Brenda, James; and special friends, Heather Alexander, Connie Stephenson, and Margie & Scott.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Matthew Yates; one brother, Joel Pickens; and special friend, Patricia Stuckey.
A Celebration of Ella's Life will take place from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her son Dan Yates' house located at 1824 Twist Road, Franklin Grove, IL 61031. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to Alley Cats.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
