Elmer S. Heiney, 89, of Salisbury Township passed away July 21,2024 in his residence. He was the widower of Catherine Joann ( Heil) Heiney, whom he shared 62 years of marriage until her passing in September, 2019. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Bessie Heiney Roth. Elmer was a 1952 graduate of Parkland High School, where he was a letterman athlete in track. Elmer honorably served his Country in the United States Army in the Security Division. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation at Cedar Union Church, Allentown. After serving in the military, he went to work at Merchants Bank and later for Mack Truck, retiring in 1985 and then spent the next 34 years as a Real Estate Agent retiring in 2019. While working in a local bank, he served as a Junior Achievement Advisor. Elmer was the co-founder of the former Parkland Area Jaycees where he served as President, was a State Advisor and was honored to receive the Jaycee Senatorship with Junior Camber in Trexlertown. Elmer was also the co-founder and honorary member of Northwestern Jaycees. Elmer also was Past President of the Orefield AA and coached Basketball at North Parkland and Northwestern AA, where he was named Jaycee of the Year. He also served many years as a Director of the Parkland Alumni Club and chaired many of their golf tournaments. He was past scout master of Troop 84 Ziegels Union Church
Survivors: sons Steven, and his wife Cathy Close of Largo, FL, Jon, and his wife Lynn of Allentown; brother Paul of Whitehall; one granddaughter Amy; 3 great granddaughters. He was predeceased by a brother Donald.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2nd at Cedar Church, 3419 Broadway, Allentown. A calling will precede the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to support the Lehigh Valley Junior Golf Tour. Memorials can be made payable to the Golf Association of the Lehigh Valley Foundation for the Elmer Heiney Memorial Fund. GALV Foundation, 2743 Saxon St. Allentown, PA 18103. Donations will support the Lehigh Valley Junior Golf Tour.

In the attached photo of the Mack CKD personnel and overseas personnel of Mack CKD operations Elmer Heiney appears third from the right. Though I was in the Latin American Sales Region and Elmer in CKD we often shared a cup of coffee together, complaining about this and that, but to the outside Elmer was a proud representative of Mack International. RIP Elmer, you were a good friend and a real Mack Trucker. Mike O'Shea
