Emil John Petrasek, 83, passed away peacefully in his home in Hollis, NH, on Monday, 1 January 2024.
Emil was born on 22 January 1940 in Passaic, NJ, the son of Emil and Anna (Kravetz) Petrasek. Emil graduated from Clifton High School, NJ and received his Bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University, PA. Emil met his future wife, Patricia (Capers) Petrasek, in college and they were married on 9 June 1962 in Woodstown, NJ. Emil retired from Coating Systems Inc in 2022.
Emil’s family was extremely important to him. He was a devoted husband, father, and Grampy. He cherished his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Emil is predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Petrasek. Emil is survived by his son, Emil Petrasek and his wife Jean (DeCristoforo) Petrasek of Gainesville, GA; his daughter, Debbie (Petrasek) Dech and her husband Kevin Dech of Merrimack, NH; six grandchildren, Zachary Dech, Alexander Petrasek, Josef Petrasek, Wendy Dech, Jacob Petrasek, and Hannah Petrasek; two great-grandchildren, Nathan Petrasek and Lexington Petrasek; one sibling, brother, Richard Petrasek and his wife Barbara (Rembisz) Petrasek of Elmwood Park, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
Emil loved to play golf with his friends at Amherst Country Club in Amherst, NH and Nabnasset Lake Country Club in Westford, MA. He was an avid poker and chess player. He enjoyed Cape Cod, where he vacationed every year with his wife, family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Emil's Memorial Gathering will be held at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Saturday, March 9 from 10:00A.M. to 11:00A.M. followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00A.M. Friends and relatives invited. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to the American Cancer Society.
