Joseph M. Petrasek passed away on August 5, 2023. Joseph was born in Oak Park, Illinois on April 16, 1946.
His family moved to Riverside, California in 1956. Joe graduated from Poly High School in Riverside in 1964 and the University of California at Riverside in 1968. He also graduated from Western State University School of Law in Orange County.
Joe was employed as a Deputy District Attorney, Public Defender, and then a Superior Court Commissioner of the County of San Bernardino.
Joe was an avid gardener and received awards for his beautiful roses. His home was selected to be on the Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society’s Annual Garden Tour three times, in 1987, 2012, and 2019.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol Petrasek, his daughter Julie Biggs and son-in-law, Mark Biggs, his son, Brian Petrasek of Redlands, his grandson, Noah, his sister, Joyce Kischel of Riverside, and his brother-in-law, Joseph T. Porter of Redlands.
Joe was a wonderful husband and father. He will be greatly missed.
