Donna Petrasek Obituary

Born in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada on January 22, 1938 a daughter of Grace E. Jones Cowper. She was a resident of Amsterdam and was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School.
Donna was employed as an Executive Assistant at the General Electric Research and Development Facility in Niskayuna, NY for several years. She also was employed at CBS Channel 6 in Niskayuna, NY where she met her husband, Joe.
Donna enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. No one left her table hungry. She also enjoyed being outside in nature, either planting her flowers or in the vegetable garden. She loved music and was an amazing dancer. In her earlier years, she skated and skied. She also loved taking care of all her beloved animals through the years, most recently Jessie and Skyy.
Donna married Joseph S. Petrasek on April 29, 1967. He passed away on September 26, 1997.
She is survived by her loving daughter Tracy Petrasek (Ed Coffey) of Amsterdam, NY. Nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her two brothers, George A. Cowper and Thomas J. Cowper.

A calling period will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church St, Amsterdam. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. presiding. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Steadwell Road, Amsterdam, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd., Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Home Office, 225 N. Tracy and family,
