Emily Ramsey Emberling, 41, passed away on February 29, 2024, at her home. She was born on January 26, 1983, in Ann Arbor where she lived until her death. A celebration of her life will be held at Nie Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Road Ann Arbor, 48103, Friday, March 8, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a service at 6:00 pm.
She leaves behind her husband, Jake and her two beloved children, Miles and Zoe; his parents, Amy and Geoff; and his sister, Ruby (Maddie). She is also survived by her mothers, Denny Ramsey (Barb), Nancy McKee (MJ) and Robin Rutz; sisters, Kathryn Silver (Joel) and their 2 children, Samantha and Gavin; Anya Rutz; and her brother, Spencer Smith; as well as many aunts including her beloved Aunt Joan, uncles and cousins who loved her.
Emily graduated from Washtenaw Community College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing in December 2014 and from University of Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 2017. She worked in the University of Michigan Psychiatry Department. Emily was extremely proud of her Nursing Career and her accomplishments in earning her BSN degree and was an excellent nurse who advocated for her patients with mental health issues.
Emily was active in the Recovery Community in Ann Arbor. There are women who are alive today because Emily was their Sponsor or friend. She had many such friends who adored her and who are thankful that she was in their lives.
Emily loved life, she was vibrant and energetic. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs. For the last 12 years, her Boston Terrier, Omar, went everywhere that Emily went. When he died late last year, a part of her died with him.
Emily had a rare combination of intelligence, physical strength and skills, creativity, artistic ability, cooking/baking skills and near photographic memory. She used those skills to decorate two houses and made them homes for her family. Emily could write extremely well and draw and sew. She was so talented, and no project was too big for her. She was constantly planning her next project or outing. She loved adventures and took her children on as many as she could. She loved her family, holidays, decorating, and friends but Miles and Zoe were her pride and joy. She wanted to give them the best that life had to offer.
Emily will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a brightly burning star whose light was extinguished too early.

I remember Emily, at kid´s group, masterfully swinging from rung to rung on monkey bars. I see her with this huge smile on her face! She was an energetic, creative child. I cannot imagine your heartbreaks. May you find solace in the arms of family and friends. May you feel comforted by the loving presence of Great Spirit.
Peace and Condolences,
