The beautiful and generous Emma Reynolds DeHart passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 18, 2024, to reunite with her Savior and family in Heaven. Before her passing, Emma’s final words to her family were that all she ever wanted in life was to be a good mother and grandmother. Emma more than exceeded her life’s goal.
Emma was born November 21, 1931, in Olive Hill, KY to Millard and Rejina Reynolds. Emma married Ile DeHart on October 3, 1952, in Kentucky, where they started their life together. They moved to Alliance, Ohio in 1968, where they planted their roots. They spent 53 years together
As a stay-at-home mother, Emma took her job seriously, not only caring for her family, but also caring for anyone who crossed her path. She was known to have healing hands and could always make people feel better when they were ill or feeling down. When people entered Emma’s home, they felt like family. She welcomed people into her home and never let anyone leave hungry. Feeding people is how Emma showed her love.
When Emma wasn’t doting on her children or her grandchildren, you could find her in her flower garden or in the kitchen. Gardening was her therapy. Emma also loved shopping with her daughters, solving word searches, and reading.
Emma lived her life to love and serve others. She took great pride in being the oldest person in her family at the age of 92. Emma passed just three days shy of her 93rd birthday.
Celebrating her life and cherishing her legacy, Emma’s family is grateful for the memories. Left to cherish her memory are her family to whom she gave her entire heart. They know they were blessed with the best mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Barb Brunner, Stephen (Jean) DeHart, Lois (Keith) Poole; grandchildren, Regina (Ty) Blasiman, Renee Noling, Shelly (Michael) Demetro, Shawn (Casey) Eddy, Jill Brunner, David Brunner, Dan (Kayla) DeHart, Jen (Michael) Strizak and Neil Poole; great-grandchildren, Megan & Geoff Blasiman, Mia & Carter Demetro, Taci (Zach) Rigby, Shawn & Jackson Eddy, Skyler Curry, Quinn & Caden Callock, Matthew Brunner, Mason, Madelyn and Mia DeHart, Zac DeHart, Logan Strizak; great-great granddaughter, Emery Rigby; Brother, Roscoe Reynolds; as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; her daughter, Kathy Eddy; her sister & best friend, Gaythel Walker; an infant sister Hazel Reynolds; her five brothers that she loved dearly, Clifford Reynolds, Rupert Reynolds, Stanley Reynolds, Earl Reynolds; and an infant brother, Clyde Reynolds.
Emma DeHart leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
