Emmalyne E. Williams was born October 22, 1934 to Bud and Mary McCoy. She was the third of five girls blessed to this loving family. She met her beloved husband at D.C.T. High School in Lata, South Carolina in 1948. She was in ninth grade and he was in eleventh.
After High School she attended City Hospital Nursing School in Newark, New Jersey, earning her LPN License and was employed by St. Joseph Hospital in Patterson, NJ, Overbrook Psychiatric Hospital in Cedar Grove, NJ and Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ. She continued her education by earning a Masters Degree in Education Administration from LaSalle University and a Masters degree in public administration from Shaw University. And it didn't stop there. She also has a Certificate to teach Cosmetology in New Jersey from Rutgers University and a Certificate to teach Special Education from Kean University.
Emmalyne married Ravenell Williams Jr. on February 5, 1955. They were married for 63 years. They were blessed with three sons, (O'Donal, Ravenell and Lovey). Emmalyne lived an extraordinary life. While raising three sons she also mastered several professions; being a Beautician, Practical Nurse, and Teacher. Together Emmalyne and Ravenell also started two successful businesses, "Wms Beauty Lounge and Williams Dental Lab.
Emmalyne also found time to volunteer at Adult Care Facilities in Cranford, Clark and Kenilworth. She also served as a New Jersey State Board Examiner for Cosmetology and an election day volunteer for many years.
Emmalyne loved with all her heart her Daughters in Law, Sandi and Pat; Grand Children, Monique, Valence, Nicole, Caitlin, DJ, Cara; Great Grand Children, Amir, Maven, Sage, Soleil, Nova, Jasiah and Zaylin; Nieces and Nephews, Miriam, Bay Bay, Carl, Danny Boy, Enevelyn, Hazel, Deborah, Jackie, Frank, James, Bernadette, Marvin, Celeste, Terese, Brad, Leon, Anthony, Gina, Valerie, Mitchel, Kimberly, Babette, Kareem, Francois and Kina God Children, Melonie and Billy, and All Williams/Sloan and McCoy In Laws. Emmalyne was also blessed with the most amazing Neighbors, Friends and Colleagues.
