Eric M. Scheuermann, 55, of Romeoville, IL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Eric was born on March 28, 1969 in Vancouver, WA, son of Ted W. Scheuermann and Margaret E. (Wykoff) Scheuermann.
Eric attended Toulon High School in Toulon, IL. He played half back and set several records while attending High School. Upon graduation he attended Blackhawk College where he earned a BS degree in Fine Arts and later attended Eastern IL University where he earned a BA degree in Graphic Design. He began his career working for Dex Media Inc., where he was awarded numerous prestigious awards for his design work and management. At the time of his death, he was the store manager for the Bollingbrook Rebel Service Center.
Outside of work, Eric enjoyed spending time with his family, his friends and his cats. He was active in the 501st Midwest Garrison, the World's Definitive Imperial Costuming Organization. Eric had an authentic STAR WARS costume, along with various other costumes and volunteered his time and talent to many charitable organizations. Eric was passionate about his STAR WARS involvement and his cars, both actual size and his 1/18 scale models. He was funny, loving and a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by his good friends Paula Spirawk, Dick Kubarek, Brent Bryner and Brad and Toni Riverdahl.
Eric is survived by his father and step-mother, Ted W and Jane Scheuermann of Peoria, IL, sister Tammy S. (Scheuermann) Willgohs of O'Fallon, IL, brother Tim W. (Tammy) Scheuermann of Sun Lakes, AZ, three nephews, Joshua Villhard of Pace, FL, Nathan (Barb Richards) Villhard of Maple Wood, MO and Taylor (Sara) Scheuermann of Peoria, IL, and one niece, Abigail (Austin Stallman) Willgohs of O'Fallon, IL. He is also survived by two great nephews Leo and Noa Scheuermann, aunt Sharon Petrakis, 8 cousins, numerous great cousins and his furry best friend Alita.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret E. (Wykoff) Scheuermann, paternal grandparents Harold and Edith Scheuermann, maternal grandparents Marianna (Ed) Topel, nephew Peyton M. Scheuermann, aunt Sharon Stickling, uncles Donald Petrakis and Ben Stickling and his beloved cats Buddy and Barney. I
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, until time of service. Pastor Stephen Barch will officiate and burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
