Eric Thomas Wilkerson, age 47 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on April 11, 1975 in Tullahoma to Betty (Boswell) Wilkerson and the late Charlie "Chuck" Wilkerson. Eric was a member of the Paynes Baptist Church. He was the former Fire Chief for Keith Springs Fire Department and owned and operated Wilkerson Excavation and Construction. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, riding 4-wheelers, and floating the river with friends and family. His favorite motto was "Just Ride". He was very compassionate about the things he loved the most. Eric was full of life and one of a kind. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and papa E. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Eliza May Wilkerson and Herman Boswell. He is survived by his loving wife Patty Gipson Wilkerson; children, Candice (Dwayne) Autwell, Noah (Becca) Fults, Abby (Sam) Williams, Levi Wilkerson, and Chloe Wilkerson; grandchildren, Kylie Autwell and Osias Williams; mother, Betty Ann Wilkerson; grandmother, Nata Cloud; sister, Rebekah (Derrick)Swann; niece and nephew, Jake and Juliann Swann; several, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 5pm until 8pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 3:30pm in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Clark Gardens.
