Ernest Gray Calhoun Jr., 77, passed away Thursday January 9th, 2025.
Ernest was born September 13, 1947, in Watertown, New York, to the late Ernest and Shirley (Freeman) Calhoun Sr.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Nicole Bovee and her husband Pete, grandson Zachary Bovee, and his siblings William M. Calhoun, Linda M. (Richard) Morris, Arthur C. (Wanda) Calhoun, Rebecca L. (Timothy) Towsley, Shirley L. (Jack) Weston, Patrick S. Calhoun, Colleen C. Calhoun ( Edward Sanford), Cathleen C. (Patrick) O'Bryan, and Eileen C. Calhoun, and a large extended family and many friends.
Along with his parents Ernest was preceded in death by two of his siblings Mary A. Calhoun, and Michael K. Calhoun, as well as a nephew Justin M. Kirby.
Ernest was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a proud member of the Watertown American Legion Post #61.
He was a loving, hardworking, and devoted father, beba (grandfather), and friend to many. He treasured any time that was spent with family and friends, but his grandson Zachary was the apple of his eye.
Ernest enjoyed his trips to the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York with family and friends, playing his scratch off lottery tickets, and fishing.
A celebration of life service in Watertown, New York will be planned at a later date.
