Ernest Clyde Duncan, affectionally known as Buddy, passed away on December 03, 2023. He was born on June 01, 1931, to Lawrence Coleman Duncan, Sr. and Pagie Pugh Duncan in Craven County, North Carolina. He proudly served in the United States Armed Services (PFC Army) during the Korean War from 1951 thru 1953, followed by service within the Reserves. He was awarded two Bronze Service Stars, a Korean Service Medal, a United Nations Service Medal, and a Combat Infantry Badge.
Ernest was raised in the Jasper community of Craven County, attending and graduating from Jasper School in 1949. He attended Atlantic Christian College (Barton College), North Carolina State University and Wake Forest University.
Settling in the Winton-Salem area, he was employed by Western Electric (AT&T) where he was credited with many advanced technological designs.
He was united in marriage with Florence Seegers on September 06, 1980.
Ernest is survived by his brother, James William Duncan and two sisters, Patsy Duncan Phipps, and Louise Duncan Mitchum, along with numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great-great nephews, and great-great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Lawrence Coleman Duncan, Jr.
Ernest was well loved by many and will be missed by all.
