Ernest Abram Nostrant

Ernest Abram Nostrant of Grand Ledge passed away May 25, 2024. Ernie was born September 5, 1922 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Grand Ledge High School in the Class of 1941 and went on to proudly serve his country in the Marine Corps during WWII. Ernie worked for both Diamond Reo and General Motors and was also a volunteer Fireman with Delta Township and on the Delta Township Board. He was a longtime faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Ledge serving in numerous capacities throughout the years. Ernie was an avid hunter and fisherman bagging his last buck when he was 98 years old. He leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who will miss his "can do" attitude and enduring love and friendship.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Nostrant; son-in-law, Roger Love; granddaughter and best buddy, Kelly Love; sister, Ella Renney along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude in 2006; daughter, Sandra Love in 2023; father, Andrew Nostrant; mother and step-father, Cora and Jack Pollington; siblings, Marion Wright, Ruth Reynolds, Donna Cody and Andrew "Babe" Nostrant.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Ledge with Pastor Chuck Foerster, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7:00 pm at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge and Wednesday at the church from 10-11:00 am.
