Sammy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He spent most of his life in the fields farming and in the woods as a log truck driver. Most of all, he found the most joy in his years as a member of the porky pig hunting club, where he was able to raise his son and grandsons to love hunting as much as he did.
Sammy is preceded in death by his parents; Lou Allen and Berta Plauche Lemoine; a brother, Cpl. William Frances Lemoine, U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Carmen Redmon Lemoine of Plaucheville; his children, Misty Mitchell (Wayne) of Big Cane, Christi Lemoine of Plaucheville and William "Billy" Lemoine (Kaitlyn) of Plaucheville; his siblings, Austin Lemoine (Elaine) of Plaucheville, Lou Allen "Jr." Lemoine (Winona) of Baton Rouge, Beverly Hayes (Donald) of Covington and Emile Lemoine of Baton Rouge; and his grandchildren, Logan Almond, Shane Mitchell, Karlie Lemoine, Lane Mitchell, Stormie McDaniel, Hunter Lemoine, Meadow Lemoine and Samuel Lemoine.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. There will be a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. by Rev. Martin Laird. Burial will be at a later date in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

Joel J. Lemoine told me countless stories of their hunting trips and how Esnar mentored him to be the person he is today. After Esnar's guidance, Joel was able to open up to his wife Amy about his feelings towards others, as the tears were pouring down his face. As Joel recounted stories of how Esnar helped him, it was easy to see that Joel was willing to be himself in the presence of his wife and close family. Esnar was a great person.

Sammy RIP!!! You might be gone but our memories will live forever. Yes we have lost contact over the years. You will never be forgotten. From watching falling stars at night working in the field to running dogs at Porky Pig in the spring time. Loved growing up with you on the farm. Driving tractors with you was the highlight of my childhood!!! Still wish we were still driving tractors. YOU WILL FOREVER BE LOVED AND MISSED!!! Johnny and Lori
