Eugene A. Marrapese

Canandaigua – Eugene A. Marrapese, age 90, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, October 20, 2024. He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Cheryl Dony; Cheryl's children, Deborah (Ted) Alvarado and Karen (Joe) Fornataro; Cheryl's four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his two sisters, June DeRosa and Rita (Robert) Laws; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony Marrapese and Michael Leone; and sister-in-law, Teresa Leone.
Gene was born in Seneca Falls and was the son of Sam and Teresa Marrapese. He grew up in Geneva and was a graduate of Geneva High School. Gene was a US Navy Veteran and served from 1952-1955 and was aboard the USS Dyess. He worked at the American Can Co. in Fairport and later at K-Mart in Geneva. Gene proudly volunteered at FF Thompson Hospital for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 256 in Canandaigua. Gene enjoyed fishing, music, his computer, driving his golf cart and a good cigar.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wood Library, 134 N. Main St., Canandaigua, NY 14424.
