Eugene Thomas McInvale

Beloved husband, father, and friend.
Gene passed away peacefully in his home on April 1st, 2025.
Gene was born in his home in Manchester, GA on December 31st, 1928. He is the son of Artis Lee McInvale and Minnie Hurst McInvale. Gene graduated from Manchester High School in 1946. After graduation, he joined the United States Army where he served in Korea during the Japanese Occupation. On July 13th, 1952, he married his soulmate, Dianne Fridell of Warm Springs, GA. They have been married for 72 wonderful years. They have three children together, Craig, Chet, and Julie, who they raised in their loving home in Warm Springs.
Gene was the owner and operator of Gene's Gulf Service in Warm Springs and Southern Hardware and Lumber Company in Manchester. He retired as the buyer and central parts manager for Goody in 2002. Gene also served on the City Council of Warm Springs, as the mayor of Warm Springs, and as the Sunday School Superintendent at the Warm Springs Methodist Church. Gene was very active in his community with the Warm Springs Men's Club and youth of Warm Springs at the city swimming pool and ballpark in his younger years. In his later years, he enjoyed working in the yard, swimming in his pool, watching the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, and sitting on his porch swing enjoying the laughter and company of friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Alma Jackson, Hazel Moss, Joanne Grant Butts, Albert McInvale, Roy McInvale, and Bob McInvale, his son-in-law Tommy Guthrie, and his eldest son Craig Eugene McInvale.
He is survived in death by his wife, Dianne McInvale, son Chet McInvale, daughter Julie Guthrie, daughter-in-law Brenda McInvale, and his six grandchildren, Seth (Lesley) McInvale, Shea (Meridith) McInvale, Satch McInvale, Megan McInvale, Natalie (Bobby) Brent, and English Guthrie. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Warm Springs City Cemetery.
