CHARLTON: Eugene R. Mongeon, 82, of Carpenter Hill Road, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 18, surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Cheryl (Ryder) Mongeon. Eugene leaves behind a lasting legacy through his daughters Sarah Meehan and her husband Dennis III and Christine Fournier and her husband Thomas. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Jackson, Jason and his wife Kirsten, and Jeffrey and his fiancée Yeori, as well as his adored great-grandchildren Savannah and Jason Jr. Eugene will be remembered fondly by his brothers John Mongeon of Dudley and Richard Mongeon of Webster, in addition to several nephews and nieces.
Born in Worcester, Eugene was the beloved son of Adelard and Isabelle (Farraher) Mongeon and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Charlton High School and dedicated 25 years of service to Gentex after working at Cabot Safety and Charlton Woolen Mill.
Eugene was member of St. Joseph Parish in Charlton. He found joy in exploring various topics on the computer, playing video games, engaging in friendly cribbage matches, and watching classic John Wayne western films.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Monday, March 25 from 4 to 7 PM at Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home located at 51 Marcy St., Southbridge.
