Everett Lee McLaughlin, 90, Raymore, MO., entered into eternal rest March 4, 2024. Memorial services will be 1PM, Saturday, March 23 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, MO. A military burial will follow at 2PM at Green Lawn Cemetery next door. And everyone is invited to a celebration of life of at Foxwood Springs, Raymore, MO in the Bromwell Lounge from 3-5PM. Refreshments and a simple buffet will be served. Share or bring any photos or stories to share during the service or celebration.
Everett, also known as 'Sonny' made his appearance July 21, 1933 at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Son to Everett and Ann (Hendershot) McLaughlin he was the middle child between his two favorite sisters Dorothy Ann and Sharon Rose. He graduated from Raytown High School 1952 and soon after joined the military serving the 14th Field Artillery Regiment. Everett was united in marriage to Patricia A. Heaton in 1966 and raised his family in the Raytown/Kansas City area. Worlds of Fun and the Chiefs Stadium are a couple of the locations he helped to build as a cement truck driver for 30 years and includes Foxwood Springs where he has spent his last years in retirement.
Everett loved his phone calls with you, to taste test Pat's Christmas cookies, enjoyed his hobbies including: Silversmithing, Sewing, breadmaking, and fly tying to name a few, and Everett was a volunteer and active in his Foxwood community so in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Fellowship of John that was created to help underwrite expenses for residents who outlive their resources): The Fellowship of John, FSRC (Foxwood Springs Residents Council), P O Box 701, Raymore, MO 64083.
Everett was a caring man preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Ann McLaughlin; and wife of 55 years, Patricia McLaughlin. He is survived by his children, Kevin, Stacey, and Andrew; grandchildren, Annabelle, Michael, Ashley, Rachelle, and Corey, Spencer, and Alex; great grandchildren, Aeryanna, Elias, Tobias, Kylie, Theia and Rosalee, Liam and Jasper... Plus, many, many more family and friends that meant so much to him. He truly appreciated, loved, and cherished each one of you.
