Fairy M. Silllings, 95, died Friday, June 16, 2023, at her home in Georgetown, IN. She was born May 18, 1928, in Corydon, IN, the daughter of Jesse William Long and Bessie Ann Feller Long Pease. Fairy was an employee of Gehlbach and Royse Funeral home for more than 25 years. She loved her yard, flowers, keeping her house spotless, painting china, painting pictures, winters in Florida, traveling, visits, surprises, picnics, her church family, gospel, and spiritual hymns. She was very proud of going back to school to get her diploma and then becoming a CNA. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Sillings, a son, Tom Sillings, a daughter Rebecca Ann Sillings, 5 brothers, Benton, Atwood, Samuel, Tom and Victor, a sister Fanny and second husband, whom her children adored, Earl Taylor. She is survived by a son, Richard "Dick" Sillings (Cathy) of Hardinsburg, IN; daughters, Patty Carver (David) of Huntley, IL and Mary McAfee (Pat) of Bowling Green, KY; sister, Rose Crawford of South Carolina; brother-in-law, Harrison Sillings and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Albin both of Corydon, IN; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, June 22. 2023, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. The burial will be in Heidelberg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2023, and from 9 AM until the service at 11 AM on Thursday also at the funeral home in Georgetown.
