Florine Catherine McBride, 80, of Millville, NJ, peacefully went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 15, 2025, with her beloved husband, Pastor Ronald E. McBride, faithfully by her side.
Born on August 13, 1944, in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Richard and Florence Lee-Warner. She was the eldest of the six Warner girls.
She attended Millville Senior High School where she would meet and marry her high school sweetheart, Ronald E. McBride. Their love story blossomed into a devoted 60-year marriage, grounded in faith, family and service. Florine continued her education through an Adult Education program. While later working for a private state educational program for children with disabilities, where she taught arts and crafts and was a bus driver, she continued her education by taking several classes at Gloucester County College.
Florine enjoyed a life of traveling, cooking and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Her love for her many nieces and nephews also brought her a sense of joy and happiness. She had a fondness for fashion and could be found shopping in antique shops and yard sales on the weekends with her sisters. Florine also loved nurturing and growing her plants, both inside and outside of her home. However, her main passion in life was serving the Lord.
Her Christian Walk began on a Sunday afternoon, on July 7th, 1985, when she was first saved, delivered and Holy Ghost filled as a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church of Millville, N.J. During her ten-year membership at Bethel, she played an essential role in ministry and outreach-assisting in the organization of a seven-day church revival under the leadership of the late Pastor W.W. Burch. She faithfully served on the Building Fund Committee, Missionary Board, Women of Zion Ministry and the choir. Guided by the conviction of John 9:4, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day," Florine ministered with deep commitment and spiritual insight. Florine strongly believed in following the gifts of the Holy Spirit and would continue to share those gifts and their teachings with all that she met.
In 1995, Florine started attending and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She went on to become a deaconess on July 11, 1999. She served as President of the Prayer Ministry, Vice President of the Women's Ministry and an adult and youth Sunday School Teacher. She also served as a Missionary, an Usher, a Chaplin for the Freedom Ministry, a member of Shiloh's Mass Choir and a Ministry Leader for the Missionaries. She became a licensed Minister on June 24, 2012, serving Shiloh Baptist Church at both Port Norris and Vineland, N.J. locations. She was a powerful prayer warrior and intercessor. Minister McBride was the founder of H.U.R.T. Ministry (Healing, Unifying, Restoring, and Trusting Ministry) where she ministered to women's mental, emotional, and spiritual pain and bondage's. She was also member of Women of Faith, Celebrate Recovery and Sister to Sister in Christ Ministries. Her life was anchored by her favorite scripture, Romans 8:31- "What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Florine was preceded in death by; her parents, Richard and Florence Lee-Warner; and sisters, Christine Lee (Warner) Hawkins and Patricia (Patsy) Warner.
She sorrowfully leaves behind; her soulmate, Pastor Ronald E. McBride to whom she was married to for 60 years; as well as four daughters, Michelle McBride, Kenyetta McBride-Cedeno (Roberto) both of Millville NJ, Taresha McBride of Owings Mills MD and Susan Custis (Steven) of Clayton NJ; four grandsons, Justin McBride (Brooke) of Tulsa OK, Tremen McBride of Owings Mills MD, Romaine Rhett Jr. of Millville NJ and Jacob Custis (Dana) of Clayton NJ; three granddaughters, Kyla Cedeno of Millville NJ, Valerie Custis of Clayton NJ and Yasmine White of Whitesboro NJ; four great-grandsons, Dominik McBride of Bridgeton NJ, Tristan McBride, Justin Jr. McBride both of Tulsa, OK and Nathaniel Custis of Clayton NJ; and two great granddaughters, Aria (Miss.
