Floyd Anthony "Floogie" Hebert

Floyd "Floogie" Anthony Hebert passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the age of 96. He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 65 years, Catty, and we take comfort knowing that he was finally at peace again, by her side. He was born on July 5, 1929, on St. Louis Plantation, and has since been a lifelong resident of Plaquemine, LA. Floogie was a retired auto parts salesman, who enjoyed traveling all over the United States with their vacation crew in earlier years, and still attended a Friday night card game every now and then. In 1946, he graduated from Plaquemine High School, which included being a member of the 1946 State Champion Boxing Team. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus Council #970, and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church family. Visitation will be held at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 9:30am to 11:30am with Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine at 12pm, celebrated by Father Martin Lawrence. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Floogie is survived by his son, Brett Hebert; granddaughter, Kaylee Hebert; great-granddaughter, Kyndall Broussard; and sister, Shirley Rivet; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine "Catty" Clement Hebert; daughter, Mary Kay Marchand Hudson; parents, Alcee and Irene Laurent Hebert; siblings, Herd Schexnaildre (Buster), Beulah Ferachi (Vincent), Nolan (Ellen), Alcee "Pupp" (Eula), Morris (Lydia), JC (Beverly), and Fabian (Willie) Hebert; and brother-in-law, Roland Rivet, Sr. Pallbearers will be Jimmy, Fabian, Jr., Ricky and Reddick Hebert, Ricky Brown, Joey Fontenot, Luke McDaniel, and Roland Rivet, II. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Ferachi and Andrew Fontenot. Although we will miss Floogie dearly, we find joy in his newfound celebration of eternal life with his loving wife, all his siblings, parents, and friends, safe in the arms of Jesus. Special thanks to Lynn Brown, Danette Breaux, and JoAnn Tullier for the care and love they gave Floogie.
