Frances Green Doss

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Frances Green Doss, 94, of Anniston, will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Buddy Nelson will be officiating the service. Private graveside services will be held immediately following Mrs. Doss' service.

Mrs. Doss went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Preceding Mrs. Doss in death include her husband of 65 years, James V. Doss; her son, Victor L. Doss; her great-grandson, Arthur J. Doss; her parents, W. Henry Green and Nettie Green Mallard; and her brothers, Ben H. Green, Bobby C. Green, Billy R. Green, and W. Hank Green.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Doss include her children, Lesley W. Doss (Tammy) and Eric J. Doss (Kristi); her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Doss; seven grandchildren, Amanda D. Pierce (Damien), Erica D. Crenshaw (James), Zachary J. Doss (Hope), Jessica R. Doss, Nicholas C. Doss (Jordan), Haley D. Janes (Danny) and Tory M. Doss (Mary); ten great-grandchildren, Cameron, Landon, and Ethan Pierce, Jackson Potts; Sidney and Charlotte Crenshaw, Clark Doss, Ezra Doss, Jed Janes, and Phoebe Doss; and one brother, Tim W. Green (Audrey).

Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Mrs. Doss graduated from Jacksonville High School and Jacksonville State University with a master's degree in education. She was instrumental in the original development of the Special Education Program for Calhoun County Board of Education. Mrs. Doss retired from Calhoun County Board of Education after 30+ years of education service. During the past three years of her life, Mrs. Doss resided at Legacy Reserve at Old Town in Columbus, GA.

Her family wishes to express a special thanks to the following: Legacy Reserve administration and their Assisted Living staff, Enhabit Home Healthcare therapists, Dr. Gregroy Foster, Dr. Keetanjali Kumar, and Dr. Manoj Patel, and Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama (RN's – Angel and Regina). Additional thanks are given to her caregivers, Shania, Sabrina, and Nikki.
