Frances (Manzi) Lovasco, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, following an extended illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School.
Frances met the love of her life, Sebastian, at the K Club in Ipswich.
When married, they built a house and settled down across the street from the family home where she grew up.
Frannie, as she was affectionately known, was an avid baker. Her famous lemon cupcakes, Italian cookies and chocolate fudge were favorites at countless family parties.
Her generous spirit and special brand of wisdom touched everyone around her.
She had a radiant smile to match her personality and an infectious and animated sense of humor.
She was a homebody, whose family was everything to her. With unconditional love, kindness and warmth, Frances effortlessly extended her love for family to friends of family, neighbors and complete strangers.
Frances is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Sebastian Lovasco.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Lisa Short and Dineen Lovasco and her three grandchildren, Robert Jr., Christian and Aja Short.
Born in Beverly on May 29, 1929, she was one of ten children and the oldest daughter of the late Orest and Jennie (DeVito) Manzi. She is survived by three sisters and one brother; Esther Corio of Beverly, Irene Ball of New Hampshire, Joanne Pennington and husband Sam of Florida and Paul Manzi of Beverly - plus many, many nieces and nephews.
Frances was pre-deceased by her daughter Stefanie, her brothers Joseph Manzi Sr., James Manzi Sr., Orest Manzi Jr., Alfred Manzi and her sister Ann Manzi.
A graveside funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly on Friday, October 4th, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Such a kind and caring person. She always checked in on my mother who lived alone across the street. She would make her treats and spend time visiting with her. My mother always looked forward to it.
God bless Mrs Lovasco
