Frances married Irvin Sorrell on September 27, 1947, at her family's home. Together they bought a home in Carson City, where they raised their family, and she continued to live until her passing.
She was a faithful devoted member of the Carson City United Methodist Church, where she served and volunteered whenever a need arose. She was active with the Methodist Women and was recognized as a Second Century Woman by her local United Methodist Women at the West Michigan Conference in 1995. She also volunteered at the Carson City Hospital for many years. Spending time with family was her greatest joy.
Frances is survived by her children Janice Egan, Connie Spiece, Bruce Sorrell; six grandchildren Leigh (Kirk) Olson, Carla (James) Patrick, Nick (Melissa) Spiece, Brennen Spiece, Amy (Glen) Accardo, Derek (Amber) Stout; great-grandchildren Eric (Lacy), Josh (Catie), Dane, Katie (Brandon), Jacob (Faith), Noah, Mae, Levi, Isaiah, Elise; great-great-grandchildren Easton, Ila, Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Irvin; an infant son Phillip; sons and daughter-in-law Walter Egan, Larry Spiece, Martha Sorrell; her parents Ezra and Anna; and her siblings Willie Harlow, Evelyn Goodsite, Helen Goodsite, Katherine Mitchell and Bertha Pendell.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 12 pm at the Carson City United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 am until the time of services at the church. Interment will be held in Payne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carson City United Methodist Church.
