Francis J. Molchan

Francis J. Molchan, 99, of Bethlehem passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at Sacred Heart Living by the Creek. Born in Allentown, he was the son of John and Mary (Superka) Molchan.

He was the husband of the late Rosemarie A. (Lukish) Molchan with whom he shared 55 years of marriage prior to her passing in March of 2004.

He was a graduate of Whitehall High School and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII serving in Okinawa.

Francis worked at Mack Trucks for many years. He was then employed at Lucent Technologies where he was a layout operator, retiring in 1987 after 29 years of dedicated service.

Frank was a longtime member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

He was an avid sports fan and loved Penn State, Phillies, Eagles and high school sports. He was a basketball official for over 20 years and during his retirement he enjoyed going to the Phillies spring training. He and his wife Rose enjoyed spending the winter months in Myrtle Beach golfing.

He is survived by sons Francis T. Molchan and wife Deborah, Thomas J. Molchan and fiancé Karen Serafino; grandchildren Stephanie Cesare and husband Matthew, Michael Molchan and wife Kaitlyn, Eric Molchan and Alexandra Molchan, great grandchildren Dylan and Carson and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters.

There will be a calling period on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A mass of Christian burial will follow in the church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Assumption B.V.M. Mausoleum in Northampton.
