Frank A. Colley of Arlington, peacefully at home on February 26th after a long illness. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ellen (Connell) Colley. Loving father of Mary Frances Colley of Arlington and Patricia Moore of North Chelmsford and cherished grandfather of Liam and Aidan Moore. Son of the late Fred and Mary (Bettencourt) Colley. Brother to Claire Delahanty of Maryland and the late Anna Price, Mary Miller and Mabel Miln. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Frank graduated from Burlington High School in 1951. He enlisted in the US Army in 1952 and went to Okinawa, Japan as a morse code operator in the Army Security Agency (ASA). After graduating from Boston College in 1959, he worked for MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington and the Center for Astrophysics / Harvard & Smithsonian in Cambridge. An avid fan of Boston College sports and longtime season ticket holder of BC football and women's basketball.
Frank's daughters would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the incredible compassionate loving care provided by Frank's aides Marie, Stephanie, Pamela and Ruvini. The family is also very thankful to the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) program for all their support during the last few years.
Funeral from the DeVito Funeral Home 1145 Mass Ave., ARLINGTON on Tuesday March 4th at 9am with a funeral mass to follow at 10am in St. Camillus Church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the funeral home on Monday March 3rd from 4 - 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to Catholic TV, PO Box 9196, 34 Chestnut St., Watertown, MA 02471 To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Frank, please visit our Tree Store.
