Frank was married to Audrey Criswell. She was his bride and the love of his life for 43 years. While Frank had no natural children, all 6 of Audrey's children became his family. The grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, lovingly referred to him as "Papa" and he proudly claimed them as his own. He retired as an instructor with Central State Hospital.
Frank was a kind neighbor and friend to many. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had an amazing green thumb and planted a garden as long as he was able. He graciously shared his bounty with his family and co-workers. He had meticulous penmanship and sent handwritten thank-you letters to anyone who did something, no matter how big or how small, for him or his wife. Those letters will be cherished memories by those who received them. Like most middle Georgians, he was an avid Braves and Dawgs fan.
Frank leaves his wife, Audrey Akin; stepchildren: Michael Williams, Sheila (Johnny) Collins, Mark (Patti) Williams, Matt (Angela) Williams, Lisa (David) Brookins, and Lori (Jody) Maddox, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
For the past few months, Frank was gently and lovingly cared for by the staff of Savannah Court Milledgeville. The family extends their thanks and appreciation for their care of "Mr. Frank".
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Baldwin Memorial Gardens in Milledgeville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN 38105.
Moores Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
