Fred Allen Bill, age 85, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a year-long illness. Fred was born to the late Harold and Cora (Robinson) Bill on October 28, 1940 in Marion, Ohio. Fred married the love of his life, Judy Walpole, on February 15, 1964, in Girard, Ohio and the two celebrated 61 years of love and marriage. Fred's work life included the Harding Hotel, Marion Power Shovel, HPM of Mt. Gilead, and his eventual retirement after 20 years as a machinist at TODCO Door.
Fred loved music. He was an avid record collector, but his greatest joy came from sharing those records with his grandchildren. In his younger years, Fred could be found playing golf at the local courses, for fun and as part of various leagues.
Fred is survived by his loving family: wife Judy; sons Kevin and Ken Bill (Jill Waite); daughter Kathy Gibson (Todd Goddard); grandchildren Tiffany (Ross) Watkins, Alex (Angelina) Gibson,
and Madison (Andrew) Powers; great-grandchildren Talan and Aspen Watkins, and Mallory Powers; and a brother and sister.
Fred was preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at The Boyd Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio, with the Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00 p.m. Fred's family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff at Marion General Hospital, who provided loving care for him in his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Marion Area Humane Society. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Fred Bill in their time of
mourning.
