Mr. Frederick "Steve" Mizell, 72, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at ECU Health Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice Center.
A private family service is being planned.
Steve was born on February 14, 1953 to the late Frederick and Annie Louise Nobles Mizell. He was a graduate of North Pitt High School. Steve attended Ignite Church of Chocowinity.
Steve married his late wife, Deborah Baucom Mizell in 1972, and they made their home in the Pactolus community where they raised their family. For more than 20 years, Steve operated his landscaping company Lawn Care 4 You. He will be remembered for his love of family and his work. An outdoorsman by nature, Steve enjoyed being outside and staying out and about. He was an avid fan of UNC Tarheel basketball. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Steve will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved him.
He is survived by: Sons, Andrew J. "Andy" Mizell of Norfolk, VA and Joshua F. "Josh" Mizell, of Chocowinity; Grandchildren, Caroline Mizell, Jenna Mizell, and Andrew Mizell, all of Newport News, VA.
