Gabye Lee Usina passed away December 27, 2022 at the Bailey Family Center. She was born in St. Augustine, Florida on September 18, 1929. Gabye attended local schools and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1947. On July 21, 1952, she married Charles R. Usina. They were married 57 years and raised their family on the family farm until his death in 2009. She was a great supporter of 4-H, the Eland Club, and the Menorcan Society.
She is survived by her 3 children, Karen Thompson, Sylvania, Georgia, Laurie Petty (Joseph) and Chuck Usina (Krista), St. Augustine, Florida. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. They brought such laughter and joy to her life.
The family would like to the thank the staff at Symphony of St. Augustine Assisted Living for the care they gave her this past year. She truly enjoyed living there.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Craig Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held following at 11:00 am. Burial will be at San Lorenzo Cemetery following service.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 241 St. George Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084 in her memory.
