Lawrence Roger Strong, 81, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on August 23, 2025. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, on July 16, 1944, Larry later moved to Fort Lauderdale before settling in St. Augustine, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was a member of the first graduating class of St. Augustine High School in 1962. Larry proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked for BellSouth for more than 30 years, often referring to the company with humor as "Ma Bell." Known for his skill with woodworking, Larry enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He was an avid dog lover and could often be found at his favorite local restaurant, The Spot, and if he wasn't there, he was at Panera Bread. Above all, Larry was dedicated to his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Kay Strong, with whom he shared a devoted marriage until her passing ten years ago. He is survived by his sons, Judd Strong and husband Rodney of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tim Strong and wife Sherri of Warner Robins, Georgia; as well as his granddaughter, Madison Strong. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society in Larry's memory.
