AVON-Garold Junior "Bucky" Riggen, 93, of Avon, Indiana and formerly of Bloomington, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at Independent Village of Avon.
He was a retired Insurance Investigator for Equifax with 30 years of service. He was born November 2, 1929, in Dana, Indiana to the late Elmer Garold Riggen and Virginia Davis Riggen.
Survivors include his former wife and mother of his children, LaDonna Wright Riggen.
His wife Suzanne Robinson Grimes whom he married April 10, 2006, preceded him in death January 22, 2020.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Beth) Riggen of Plainfield and Theodore (Kim) Riggen of Nashville; two daughters, Katherine (John) Coffey and Peggy (Miquel) Salgado; one sister, Kay Mitchell; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Harris, Courtney Sturrup, Jasmine Cooksey and Bradon Riggen; nine great-grandchildren, Alexis Slater, Camden Harris, Rylan Harris, Kylah, Max, and Tyson Sturrup, Nadia, Marissa, and Ava Cooksey.
He was a graduate of Dana High School, attended Purdue University and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1949-1951. He enjoyed basketball and football.
Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, April 6, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with the Rev. Joe Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Chapel Cemetery in Scottland, Illinois. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm Thursday at Gooch Funeral Home.
Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 in his memory.
