Gary Lee Beek, age 72 of Waupun, WI passed away on November 2, 2025.
Gary was born on September 8, 1953 in Waupun, the son of Bernie and Angie (Homan) Beek. Gary graduated from Waupun High school in 1971 and retired from Silgan after 37 years in 2015. Gary was united in marriage to Jan Pluim on May 20, 1977 and together they lived in the Brandon area. Gary lived a life devoted to serving Christ and his community. He was dedicated to his family, enjoyed gatherings with friends and had an admiration for the outdoors. Gary will be remembered for always being the first one on the ice and the last one off.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jan Beek; sons Ivan Beek, Irvin (Kristina) Beek and Ben Beek. His grandchildren, Olivia, Gavin, Madison, Carter, Sophia, Brendin, Landen, Colton and his great-grandson, Vincent. His siblings, Cliff Beek, Rick Beek, Patricia Medema, Brian (Debbie) Beek, Kurt (Pam) Beek, Cindy (Brian) Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Gary will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Werner Harmsen Funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at First Reformed Church in Waupun from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service will take place at church on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Lang officiating.
To honor Gary’s love for hunting and the outdoors, the family invites guests to wear camouflage to the service. Please feel comfortable wearing what you have and alternatively a camouflage accessory (tie, scarf, or pin) would be a wonderful way to honor Gary’s memory.
