Gary Thomas Cantrell

Gary Thomas Cantrell, 89, of Battle Creek, entered the presence of his Lord on December 1, 2023. He was born in Battle Creek, MI on July 13, 1934, to Malchus Cantrell and Agnes (Hancock) Cantrell.
Gary married Donna Chochoff on June 29, 1963, and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June. He taught History for many years at Lakeview High School and after retiring he was Pastor of Gull Lake Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Cantrell; four precious children, Laurie (Scott) Benjamin, Sharon (Michael) Wood, Susan (Glenn) Valdez and Christopher (Randee) Cantrell; grandchildren, Mitchell, Olivia and Gabriel Benjamin, Leila, Amos and Lydia Wood, Talia and Lewis Valdez and Noah, Dylanie, Aurora, and Ruby Cantrell.
Gary lived a very humble life. His passion in life was to teach and preach the truth about God through the Bible. One of many passages that meant so much to him was Psalm 34:8, "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."
The family would like to thank so many dear friends for their help: Collin and Karla Walch, Marion Walter and Centrica Care Hospice for their services, in particular Katie, Mari Jo and Art.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at the Gull Lake Bible Church, 1491 Midland Drive, Hickory Corners, MI 49060 on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Michael Wood officiating.
Interment will take place following the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Gull Lake Bible Church.
