Gary A Finders, 73, of Marshalltown, IA passed away on the evening of August 11, 2022, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A visitation luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. A graveside service will follow the visitation luncheon at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.
Gary Allen Finders was born on October 15th, 1948, to Gordon and Irene Finders. Gary grew up in Ferguson, Iowa and Marshalltown, Iowa. Growing up, Gary was a newspaper carrier and was always conscientious and timely performed the duties required. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1967. Gary's favorite sport was baseball and he was passionate about collecting baseball cards. Gary was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam conflict in 1968. He was honorably discharged in 1970. After returning home, Gary could be seen around Marshalltown experiencing many adventures. Gary lived his last 25 years at the Iowa Veterans Home. He was dearly loved by his parents, brothers and sisters, as well as his many nieces and nephews, who are proud of the sacrifices Gary made for the United States of America.
Gary is survived by his four siblings, Gordon Jr. (Kay), Doug, (Linda), Jim, Laurie (Brian Hoing), 12 nieces and nephews, and 24 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Nancy Finders, as well as both sets of paternal and maternal grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
