Gary Maze Horn, Sr., age 79, of Cedar Bluff, VA, went to forever be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Surrounded by his loving family at his home that he considered a little piece of heaven on earth.
Gary was born in Whitewood, Virginia and was the son of the late Ezra "Silas" Maze Horn and Helen Irene McKinney. He was a coal miner and a man of many trades and talents. He was a 1963 graduate of Whitewood High School. Gary served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne and was a lifelong resident of the area. He dearly loved his family and will be missed by all who loved and respected him. Gary was of the Christian faith and dearly loved his Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Dorothy Mae Horn; sister, Joyce Moses; brothers, Larry Horn and Scotty Horn; daughter-in-law, Brenda Goodman.
He is survived by:
Daughter, Melissa Irene Houchins and husband, James of Farmville, VA
Sons:
Gary Maze Horn, Jr. of Sevierville, TN
James Marshall Goodman of Cedar Bluff, VA
His best friend and the love of his life, whom he loved dearly, Nancy Alsbrook.
Sister, Darlene Coleman of Pounding Mill, VA
Brothers, Clark Horn and wife, Judy of Pounding Mill, VA
Grandchildren: Bobby Goodman and wife, Christy; Cody Houchins, Martina Horn, Gary Maze Horn, III, Shawn Goodman and wife, Danielle.
Four great-grandchildren, one on the way, and a host of family and friends also survive.

A memorial service for Gary Maze Horn will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Fellowship Baptist Church on 24522 US Highway 19; Cedar Bluff, VA 24609 with Rev. Rick Blevins officiating. Upon his wishes, Gary was cremated. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
