Gary Theodore Woods, 83 passed away peacefully in Sedro Woolley on October 1, 2025. He was born in Helena, MT on November 5, 1942, to Mel and Lilly Woods. Gary married Linda Blankenship in Townsend, MT on February 15, 1964. He graduated from Carroll College in 1967 with a BA in Business Administration. Soon after graduation he got a job at the Seattle Field Office of Comptroller of the Currency as a Trust Examiner and worked at the Seattle office until 1995 when he moved to San Francisco. After moving to San Francisco, Gary met his partner Kathie Broden. They were together for 30 years.
Gary always enjoyed meeting new people, traveling, and hitting a small white ball around a beautiful grassy landscape. Gary's favorite pastime was chatting over a good pint of beer in a small pub with lots of character. London was a favorite destination that he visited many times.
Gary is survived by his daughter and her husband, Debbie and Mike DeGraaff, their son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Ashley, and their son, Omer; his son and his wife, Rob and Rachael Woods and their son, James Woods; and his first wife Linda. Gary is also survived by his brother Ron and sister Linda, nephews Jeff Woods, Allan Payne, and Ronnie Ransom and nieces Ma'Lyn Carrisoza, Virginia Bendall, and Lillie Bendall-Banta.
Gary's family also includes Kathie Broden and her three daughters; Darcy Peluso and her two children, Lucus and Lexi; Kelly and Jeff Gaddis and her three children, Jack, Josh and Annika and grandchild Neriah; Corie and Manny Harris and her two children, WJ and Christina, and grandchildren DJ, Aleia, TJ and Kennedy.

This is Robert Barrett. I worked with Gary as a bank examiner while he was in Seattle and again when he was in San Francisco. He was a mentor and a friend. Gary played golf with my father and I when he had an assignment in Salt Lake City. Gary you will be missed.
