George Dawson Bond Jr. (Buddy), 74 , passed away suddenly on October 30, 2024. He was born in Akron on September 3, 1950, to the late George and Pauline Bond. George was a 1969 graduate of Manchester High School. A lifelong resident of the Portage Lakes area, George was retired from Myers Tire Supply and worked for companies Goodyear Tire, along with car dealerships in Akron.
George was an avid reader with a deep passion for sports having played many years of baseball in Manchester and with the University of Akron. George’s gregarious personality always made him liked by his friends and family, along with anyone he would meet. He will be sadly missed by many.
Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by his beloved sister Cindy. He leaves behind his two beloved daughters Jennifer Richmond and Tiffany Sherrill, his brothers Cliff Bond and Rod Bond, nephews Matt Bond, Rodney Bond Jr and nieces Kristi Wenhold, Rachael Kraeger, and Paige Bond, along with many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
May the memories of George forever bring joy to those who knew him, and may his light continue to shine within all who loved him, as that is what he would want.George’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, from 3 to 5 P.M. at Cliffside Key Club, 2118 South Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44301.
