George Griffiths, age 81, of Medina passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 22, 1942, to the late Howard and Helen (Woolsey) Griffiths.
When George was a toddler, his family moved to East Cleveland, Ohio, where he attended school. Throughout his youth and young adult life, George sang with many vocal groups, including the Cleveland Singers at Severance Hall. He graduated from Shaw High School in 1960. Following high school, George proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy (Submarine Service). After his service, George went on to ultimately work in the insurance industry for 33 years, retiring in 1999. In retirement, George loved to golf and spend time with his family. His grandchildren were the highlight of his retirement years. George will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic and his dedication to providing for his family.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Suzette, brother, Mark and beloved daughter, Susan. He is survived by his son, Steven C. Griffiths of Orlando, FL.; son, Nathan (Andrea) Stalnaker of Wadsworth, OH., daughter, Nicole (Patrick) Brose of East Hanover, NJ.; grandchildren, Evanjaline, Dylan, Hayden, Beckett, Peter, and Daniel.
Please join the family for a Memorial Visitation for George on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Carlson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd. (Corner of Rt. 18 and River Styx) Medina, Ohio 44256. A Memorial Service will follow at 4pm. A private interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial donations will be graciously accepted by the Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Rd. Medina, Ohio 44256 in memory of George.
