Sherri Gehrdes "Karaoke Mama"
April 6, 2023
I first met George 13 years ago when my daughter asked me to go to karaoke with her at Seville Quarter on college night. Our meeting turned into a wonderful friendship over the years. We shared much laughter and good times over the years. We had major discussions about all sorts of things and he was always a concerned friend who truly cared about those around him and what they were going through despite what he might have been going through himself. Last year, I battled two cancers and beat both of them. George and I spent much time talking about my health and he was so concerned and worried about me. When my daughter got married there was no question about who would be the host for the reception. George gladly hosted and even sang his version of "Ice Ice Baby" while doing the Running Man keeping us all thoroughly entertained. We cherish all of those memories. My thoughts and prayers are with Chad and the Hahner family. I was dubbed "Mama" many years ago and it stuck. Many have asked me if I was his real Mama. I might not have been his real mother, but we all became "family". He will be sorely missed. He was always our bright ray of sunshine. Until we meet again one day, dear friend.

Please accept my sincerest sympathies on the loss of George. He was one of the best people I have and will ever meet. George, you will always be in my heart. I will meet you by the witness tree.
