Mr. George Edward Hill, Jr., age 34, of Shelbyville, passed away December 11, 2022.
Funeral services will be 6 PM Friday, December 23, 2022, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.
Following the service, he will be cremated.
The family will receive visitors 3 PM until service time Friday at the funeral home.
George Edward Hill, Jr. was born to the union of George Edward Hill, Sr. and
Evelyn Lee-Gresham on September 25, 1988, in Atlanta, Georgia. George was
baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and confessed his faith in
the Lord Jesus at an early age.
George was a genuine and protective figure for his boys Malachi Hill and Eli Hill as
well as his Mother and Aunt Mary. As a young boy growing up, he always wanted
a son to grow up with as he aged in life. He was ecstatic when Malachi was born.
When Eli was born (six years later) his pride, joy and excitement increased. He loved his boys!
George attended elementary school in Douglasville, Georgia. He moved to
Shelbyville Tennessee and attended Liberty Middle School. During his middle
school years, he played football with the Patriots as a star running back.
Everybody loved him because he was fast and scored many touchdowns for the
team under the coaching of Coach Bubba Dee McCullough. He also played a little
basketball, but football was his passion. He continued playing at Shelbyville
Central High in his freshman year.
During his adult life, George moved back to Georgia and pursued a career in
trucking. He loved the trucking business and worked for many companies. He
even owed his own "Big Rig" at one point. Worked for a few more companies and
recently purchase his second truck "The Green Machine." George was overjoyed
to own his personal truck, once again. Unfortunately, this excitement ended on
December 11, 2022.
George is survived by his Father, George Edward Hill, Sr.; his Mother, Evelyn (Ben)
Gresham; Aunt, Mary (John) Saunders; his Brother, D'Juan "Mel" Hill; his beloved
Sons, Malachi Edward Hill and Eli Manning Gordon Hill; as well as a host of aunts,
uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
