George "Sonny" Marshall, age 85 of Thorofare, NJ died at home on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Born in Woodbury to the late George W. Marshall and Doris E. (nee Lind) he graduated from Paulsboro High School Class of 1959 and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Sonny was an antique dealer and had his own business, Once Upon A Time. He enjoyed searching for antiques, gardening, and loved animals, especially horses & cats. Sonny also enjoyed talking to his sisters on the phone.
He is survived by his children (cats), Calli, Morris, Coco, & Tiger; siblings, Doriann Broszeit & her husband, Max Sr. of Mantua, Darlene Snyder of Tamaqua, Denise Lightcap of Mantua, and Brett Marshall & his wife, Dawn of Mays Landing; many nieces & nephews, and great nieces & nephews. Sonny was also survived by his close friend, business partner, and partner in crime, Joe Mellon and close family friend, Amanda. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Terry & Steve Snyder.
Relatives & friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Monday, May 5th at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Entombment will follow at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
