George proudly served his country in the National Guard Army Reserve as a Staff Sargeant. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Three Rivers, MI. Georged worked for White Westing House for many years as salesman of the year. His next adventure was from 1987-1994 where he owned Howdy Doody's Saloon in Niles, MI.
George was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was a great historian, a walking encyclopedia of knowledge, especially knowing a vast amount of Michigan information. From the time George was a young boy, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known as "Such". His family is grateful for the many life skills he taught them over the years. George loved living in his house on Pleasant Lake. It was his paradise. Most of all, he loved his family.
