HELENA – George Wayne Reiche, 80, a resident of Quinell Road, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, October 7, 2024 at Massena Hospital.
Wayne was born September 23, 1944 in Poughkeepsie, New York, the son of the late George N. and Amelia M (Satko) Reiche. On February 25, 1963, he entered the US Navy, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge on February 24, 1967.
He worked at various locations for IBM retiring for 41 years as a systems analyst in the East Fishkill location. After his retirement, he and his wife moved to the North Country. He was a member of the Andrew W. Cook American Legion Post #1479 and enjoyed watching football, camping, and waterskiing when he was younger.
Wayne is survived by his companion and wife of 24 years, Darleene Neilson, whom he married in June; his children, Tracy Fillmore, Lance, Kimberly, and Christopher Reiche, Amanda Gilman and Amber Fialkovich; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his brother, Gordon Reiche.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, however there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider a donation in his memory to a local animal shelter of your choice.
