George C. Stobbs, Jr., 60, passed away on July 16, 2024, in his hometown of Wheeling, WV. George was born on February 19, 1964, in Wheeling, the son of George Stobbs, Sr., and June (West) Stobbs.
In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by his sister Georgiann, brother Richard, and nephew Chatt.
George is survived by his wife Connie Speicher-Stobbs; daughter Stephanie (Tom) Mckenzie and grandchildren Logan and Riley; son George (Brittney) Stobbs, III, and grandchildren Jace and Owen; daughter Meaghan (John Brown) Stobbs and grandchildren Jayce, Aubrey and Brantley; and son A.J. Austin (Brooke Robbins) Stobbs. He also leaves behind his bonus children Rusty Peters and Hayden, Carson, and Wyatt; Gage (Paula) Peters and Bentley, Nevaeh, Wyleigh, and Kodi; along with his sister Sandie; and many beloved friends who are like family.
George loved camping at Sally Buffalo Park and watching his kids and grandkids play sports or dance. He will be remembered as someone who was always helping someone and who continued to give as an organ and tissue donor following his passing.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, July, 19, from 12:00 pm until time of service at 3:30 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff St.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to help the Stobbs family with George's funeral expenses may be made here.
