Gerald "Jerry" Jerioski, born on October 25, 1937, in Erie, passed away at the age of 87 after a remarkable journey on Monday, December 2, 2024. Jerry was known for his intelligence, great sense of humor, and family-oriented nature. He left an everlasting impression on everyone he met, being incredibly likable and easy to talk to.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Patricia "Patty" Firch Jerioski. They were married for 65 wonderful years, having dated for three years before their wedding on January 2, 1960.
Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal from 1959 to 1963, demonstrating his dedication to his country. He was employed at Zurn Industries for 37 years. Known for his sharp wit and storytelling, Jerry enjoyed spending time in his yard, gardening, fishing, hunting, bowling, visiting the casino, polka dancing, listening to music, and cheering for the Cleveland Indians. Jerry, Patty, Jean, and Jack were a close-knit group who often traveled together and shared many adventures.
Most importantly, Jerry loved and adored his family. His greatest joy was sharing memories and stories with his loved ones.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Jean Benedict; his children, Kathie Lang (Scott), Karen Courteau (Larry), Krissy Skrzypczak (Dan), Kenny Jerioski (June Parmarter), and Kelly Thayer (Joe); and brother-in-law, Douglas Clinton; along with twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Frank Jerioski; his grandson, Cameron Corder; his brother, Frank Jerioski; his sister, Rose Britton; his mother-in-law, Frances Clinton; his sister-in-law, Faye Jerioski; and his brother-in-law, Jack Benedict.
Jerry will be remembered as a ray of light by his friends and family, and as a loving, caring man who touched the lives of many. His family is left with bittersweet smiles as their star has taken his final bow. Jerry's warmth, humor, and love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Monday, December 9th, from 4 to 7 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday, December 10th, at 10:30 am, conducted by Rev. Jerry Priscaro. A private interment will be held.
